I love a Green Smoothie, but this one is so good even Ronnie and Austin will drink it. Green smoothies are a great way to start the day with a nutritional kick. Every morning Austin, Ronnie and I drink some variation of this smoothie. It’s acts like a nutritional safety net for the day. Of course you can change it up.
The raw cauliflower, avocado and frozen banana create a creamy texture and the berries, celery and nut butters give an antioxidant boost. Skip the berries if you want it to glow green. Sometimes if I want to make a smoothie bowl, I’ll reduce the coconut water so the blend is thick and smoothie bowl consistency. You can top your smoothie bowl with extra super-food ingredients, such a gogi berries, sliced strawberries, raw chocolate shavings and frozen fruits. Yum, I’m getting hungry thinking about it.
Another awesome smoothie recipe is Kimberley Snyders GGS. I love it because it incorporates a variety of leafy greens. As your Mamma said, Eat your greens!
1 cup baby spinach
½ cup kale (optional)
1 cup coconut water (you can use milk, or almond milk or water if you prefer)
1 small stick of celery ( I always peel my celery to get rid of the stringy bits)
2 florets of cauliflower
1 cup frozen strawberries or blueberries (optional: I love organic wild picked berries)
1 banana (preferably frozen)
¼ cup frozen mango
1 tsp almond butter
¼ cup ice
Put the ice, coconut water, greens (spinach, celery and Kale) in blender and blitz until greens are blended. Add remaining ingredients. Serve in a pretty glass with a sprinkle of coconut shavings
This Green Smoothie goes perfectly with our Thai Chicken Burger
Serve in a beautiful glass.
I hope you enjoy xxx
